Note: I now have everyone I need to help produce this publication. Thank you to my kind volunteers~

Hello~

I've been editing a publication called Nocturnes Magazine for the past five or so months, and our recent issue has hit a bit of a problem. I won't go on about it since you can read about it on my blog, but I'm in need of a few artists and one graphic designer to help put issue three together. All I can offer is one print copy of the publication or my editing/proofreading services for anything you like.

If anyone is interested, please note, email (shadowfox[at]wikianswers.com), tweet, tumblr message, comment or contact me somehow for more information.

As always, I appreciate if you can spread the word.

On the off chance you stopped by because you found me on Beta-Readers or somewhere editing related, here are some helpful links to places you can get critiques~!

On DeviantArt

DA is fortunate to have a number of groups dedicated to bettering your writing. This list is not definitive – there are many more groups out there, this is just my pick of a few:

:bulletgreen: Beta-Readers is a service where writers are paired with beta readers via a system of matching criteria. The group works hard to pair authors and betas with the most compatibility and from my experience, they do a good job. If you're looking for a long-term partner in either writing or reviewing, you should take these guys up (or look through some public profiles).

:bulletgreen: If you write scripts of any kind, House-of-Playwrights has a WIP folder for critiques. Though you have to critique others and outline questions you have for your own work, it's a good place for script-specific feedback.

:bulletgreen: WritersInk, which is an outstanding community by the way, has started hosting "critique night chat" events which focus on a few pieces in a very warm, workshop-like environment. It may be better for those who wish to critique rather than be critiqued, but it's still a good place.

:bulletorange: AnotherContestGroup isn't critique-specific, but a number of times I have come across critique contests, so it gets a mention.

Elsewhere

If you want to get some different eyes or need some very specific audiences, a few forums/blogs/offsite groups offer their services:

:bulletgreen: PeerEdit is a small blog run by one or two people who take critique requests and edits in separate posts. Often you'll get a more eye-friendly version of pointing out errors (while DA comments is a little lacking in formatting) with some good feedback. While the site encourages optimistic and constructive criticism, you may be adverse to their grading system or to having unknown people look over your work, which is always a valid concern.

:bulletgreen: Lemma Soft Forums is pretty much the largest gathering of English language visual novel creators and they have a subsection specifically for writing advice. If you're creating a VN or dating sim, you can always use this place for short critiques or advice.

:bulletorange: Editorial Anonymous dishes out advice to those who email the site admin. It's not entirely for hobbyists, but a good source of near-professional opinions and advice.

:bulletorange: Sometimes the people at Writer Leopard Advice (or those who follow them) accept pieces for critique. The blog itself is more advice for writing, and sometimes they're incorrect about details, but their hearts are in the right place and they're willing to help writers.

(You should totally support these things)

Now that I've done all I'd like with the one day Premium membership, I don't have to worry about keeping my commission journal on my front page.

I'm not exactly a well-known writer, but this project needs all the attention (and possibly help) it can get.

For the past year and a half, I've been working on Project White — a yuri visual novel that sprung from the idea that there should be a VN with ordinary girls romancing other ordinary girls. Since it was created, we've been working on the game and now feel confident with being open about it.

In the town of Finhurst, on the coast of England, Holly Knight has just begun her final year at the exclusive all-girls' boarding school of St. Claire's. It is a time of nervous excitement for those around her as they prepare for their lives after graduation. However, Holly finds herself stuck in the past without any goals or guiding ambitions. Amidst these shiftless feelings, six people enter into Holly's life who each have the potential to alter both her present and future.

If you'd like, you can follow our progress on the development blog divulgedev.tumblr.com/ (NSFW), just get art updates through our DA divulgeart.deviantart.com/ or even stop by the forum to chat whitegoddess.forumsmaroc.com/ .

The game is non-commercial and relies on volunteer work in various aspects in order to get things done. If you'd like to contribute art, writing or programming, please check our FAQ section for how to apply.

Even though there is a lot to do, I honestly enjoy working on this project and hope that we can get a demo out soon to show everything off!

If you need help with your writing, I'm available for anything. I'm used to working with non-English backgrounds and beginners as well as people who've been writing for years. I also have experience editing for visual novels using .rpy files. I'm a Creative Writing major and have edited or been a Beta for over 20 different people with various needs and depth required.

I can work in US, UK, Canadian and Australian English conventions and in either Track Changes or my own style of comments. My work is thorough and timely — I can provide detailed feedback on any aspect I find that could be improved. With editing, I can provide a breakdown of everything corrected. I can Beta or edit fiction (including fanfiction) in prose or theatre scripts.

If you're interested in taking me on for work and would like to see my ethic, I can sample your writing up to 2,000 words and provide a quote.

Payment varies with your needs and level of detail but can be flexible. I accept pay through PayPal only.

If you would like to commission me, please contact me via a note or through shadow@insistonplot.com
